Feel vs. Know: Lock In Your Swing
Good hitters can lose their best move patterns overnight. Here today, gone tomorrow—then the constant struggle to find it again. Great hitters burn mechanics into their central nervous system (CNS) so they never lose them! RECALIBRATE is custom-built training equipment that locks in your elite movement patterns, permanently.
Game-Speed Training on Custom Machines
Instead of on disjointed training programs that can confuse your body, RECALIBRATE locks in a repeatable movement pattern that matches your true game swing. This system trains the CNS to use the same synergistic contractions, with the same rate of force, within the same time constraints, and using the same sequenced planes of motion every time. That means more consistent game-day performance, lower injury risk, and maximum power behind every swing.
Unlock True Elastic Power
The game’s best hitters start building tension in their body early, then dynamically stretching like a rubber band late into their movement pattern based on pitch location, so they can adjust to any pitch. This elasticity isn’t just basic hip-shoulder separation, it requires all three planes of motion working together. A 12-millisecond swing speed requires precise, optimized training on the right functional equipment to perfect form and rotation.
Train Smart. Hit Better.
Movement matters, but how you train it matters more! Without a repeatable movement pattern wired into your muscles and your brain, your best swing disappears when you need it most. 4 Knobs uses custom, purpose-built equipment specifically for baseball and softball hitting, closing the gap between strength training and game-speed execution.
Stop guessing with generic training sessions! Own your swing profile, lock in elite mechanics, and convert your natural athleticism into game-day power when you and your team need it most.
1. Contralateral pelvis. Pelvis-spine integration. The ANCHORS.
What it targets: Machines in the ANCHOR category optimize the “load” or “first move” at or around the Pitcher’s hands break. They activate the posterior and anterior oblique slings in sequence. These machines do not allow “sway” or early posture problems or poor weight distribution. They train the CNS to build and store energy by contralateral pelvis movement and pelvis-spine integration.
CNS Benefit: Burns the exact feeling of your first move and activates the right muscles early in proper sequence.
2. How to start the “chain” to create sequenced elasticity. STRETCH.
What it targets: The focus is not hip-shoulder separation in the transverse plane only. The machines synchronize all planes of motion to sequence the pelvis-spine-lats, etc. to create elasticity without compromising speed or explosiveness. Create and measure the most powerful “stretch” but without increasing the time in milliseconds to deliver that force. All these machines are synchronizing, coupling, and activating the muscles in sequence. No slack. Without adding extra time to get more bat speed.
CNS Benefit: Burns the exact feeling of where the pitch is when your pelvis opens/lengthens but still shortening the muscles of your upper torso without counterrotating your shoulders.
3. Second Separation. Use all 3 planes of motion. GAME CHANGER.
What it targets: There are multiple kinetic links involved in “separation” – the more that get activated in the shortest amount of time (milliseconds) creates big boy power. The machines will train it like no other exercise or drill that you have ever had access to in order to build this most important movement. For instance, the latissimus dorsi shows region-specific activation. Because of fiber orientation, etc. small adjustments in shoulder angles or arm movement redistribute the tension and mechanical elasticity. These small “butterfly” activations are the triggers to being a great hitter.
CNS Benefit: This is a game changer. By pre-stretching the muscle-tendon unit right before launch, the central nervous system triggers a stronger, faster muscle contraction.
4. Transfer the energy. Launch Optimization.
What it targets: Let the whip crack. Release the energy. Let it eat. You have created the elasticity, now it’s the fun part. If you have to muscle up at the end to “swing the barrel” instead of letting the spine throw it, go back to step 3. These devices are like none other – no need to cast or drag or loop or exaggerate launch angle or tilt or drop your shoulder or turn. The barrel is ready to GO.
CNS Benefit: Imprints the trust to know that you will catch up. You will get to inside VELO with quickness by top hand focus/axis and bottom hand stability/strength from the elasticity you already created and stored for this moment.
5. Put it all together. The Enforcer.
What it targets: yes, we have a machine that puts it all together. The previous steps build the functional couplings between the different swing phases. This protocol is not just about movement; it is also about motor learning. Using motor synergies to solve timing and coordination problems is critical rather than doing random drills or listening to a bunch of talking heads. Also, mixing up the training protocols and even using backwards chaining. Putting it all together is not throwing med balls or doing cable chops. It’s functional, specific, accurate, precise, optimization of movement with functional, specific, accurate, precise machines.
CNS Benefit: Put it all together in sequence, with maximum power and quickness. Count milliseconds because “milliseconds make millionaires.”
